Had my CX3 three months now and done 700 miles. Finding the engine pretty raucous at all speeds. I can live with it but wondered if it settles down given time.

All road tests mention engine noise but most say it's acceptable. Ours (2.0 Sport Nav) is quieter than our Captur was!!!

Only really notice the engine when say overtaking. There is a fair bit of road noise but considering the tyre/wheel size and the state of the roads it's not that surprising

From my initial drives I think it's not so loud.

Our CX-3 is 2mths old and 1100km, the engine raucous? Not at all, its barely intrusive TBH (petrol 2ltr).

Tyre roar is a Mazda trait, but I'm aware of that and TBH it's not a real issue.

I don't mind the level of the noise, but not over keen on the actual tone. It would be so much better if it sounded like the MX5. Music to my ears.

That engine note sells cars in the USA! I doubt it will mellow as the Euro VI engine is so clean it won't tend to fill the exhaust with noise absorbing carbon. Look in the tailpipe and it will be as clean as a whistle.

You'll find it better once you get some miles on it.
