Well, today I have become the proud owner of a new alternator made in Taiwan....Dont we make anything in the UK anymore?????
I was quoted £900 by the dealer, which included the belt etc, and was pleasantly surprised to receive a bill for £620 instead.
Lets hope it will last!!!!!

Looks like I'll be using the bus a little longer!!!
Its just that its been 2 weeks now and my legs are getting shorter with all the walking I'm doing!!! Still, good for the health I suppose!!!

Re: Replacing Serpentine belt
Still on the subject of alternators.... I rang my local Mazda dealer to report my need of an alternator last Monday and was told that they would order one for me from Europe. Today (Friday), it still hasn't arrived!!! Does anyone know if there is a problem with this particular model of alternator? I...

Re: Daylight running lights
Following a breakdown call out, I was advised that my alternator has had it. Got a price from my local Mazda dealer of around £1030 plus vat, to replace it, which includes the belt etc.!!!! My question is this; when I drive to the Mazda garage, which is about 10 miles from my house, as the alternato...

Re: Replacing Serpentine belt
Thanks for that. Ive been researching the prices of Alternators and they come in all prices, so its difficult to be accurate, so I would say that your estimate of around £700 isn't far off if a Bosch or Lucas model was used. I once fitted an alternator to a 1969 MGB which was very easy, but with all...

Re: Replacement Alternator.
Hi, Not sure if this is the right place for a query re the Alternator, but here goes... Had a problem starting the CX3 this morning. Breakdown man came and identified the problem as the alternator. Rang my local Mazda dealer and they have to order the part which will take about a week!!!! I then ask...

Re: 4th service cost
Thanks for that Graeme. I think I might take it to my local Halfords next time. They did a good job on my old Mazda 6 some years ago and were quite reasonable.

Re: 4th service cost
Just had the 4th service carried out on my 2018 CX3. £404 including a MOT. How does that sound?? I've also been quoted a package price of £708 for future 5th and 6th services. Im in Norfolk UK, so I was wondering how the above prices compare with other districts. Im very satisfied with my local Mazd...

Re: CX3 Fuel pump recall
All done and dusted!! I got the call just after I'd just filled up, so it went in with a tank 2 thirds full! All seems to be ok with the same amount of mileage left, according to the readout, so not a lot of spillage!!!
