Re: Mazda CX-3 Vs Kia Sorento Vs Skoda Kodiaq?

As a fellow tinnitus sufferer may I offer the following advice.
You are looking to buy a new car for yourself, not your sister.
If you value your back and your hearing, don't buy a CX-3.

Totally irrational I know but, men who wear back to front baseball caps.
Seconded. Wearing a baseball cap is bad. Wearing one backwards is very bad indeed.

Worst of all are men who wear them indoors, often to disguise their baldness. I feel like asking them "is it raining in here?"

Re: Noise!

The comment about the music volume is tongue in cheek given the noise issue is one forum members most prolific posting topic and their pet hate. Such it should be taken in good humour. As others have stated the Toyo tyres don't appear to be as bad so those with what appears to be inferior Bridgesto...

Re: Noise!

I also suffer from tinnitus, so the last thing I need is a noisy car or overly loud music to mask it. My generation also still likes to converse with passengers in a normal tone of voice, often impossible in the CX-3 but always a pleasure in my 1970 Rover 3.5 Litre Coupe. Some years ago there was ta...

Re: Noise!

I had my first motorway trip Wed evening on the M40 I was travelling at 80 mph and could have done with some ear defenders, the noise is horrendous not sure what the road surfacing was or whether it is the tyres but I wouldn't want to do it for any long trips. Welcome to the stressful noisy world o...

Re: Whats the real MPG

On an annual mileage of about 5000 I don't worry too much about MPG, but I am happy that the car stays on the right side of 43, which I think is good for a 2 litre petrol automatic in real world motoring. I might see a marginal improvement by using the i-stop function, but I prefer to decide for mys...

Re: Recommendations for new tyres

Anything which reduces the high levels of cabin noise and vibration is to be welcomed. I have driven quieter vans. The rock hard Bridgestone Turanzas supplied on my CX-3 still have plenty of tread after 10,500 miles, but when the time comes I will be fitting Michelin Cross Climates and will report ...

Re: Stopping engine with istop

I disable i-stop as automatically as putting on my seat belt. I find it disconcerting and am sceptical about it's claimed benefits. The button which sets the trip odometer can be rotated to dim the instrument lights at night. I had paint protection applied free of charge to sweeten the deal, but the...

Re: Extended warranty

My warranty and pre-paid service plan both expire next July, so in June I will have the third annual service and the first MoT carried out. That will be the time to discuss extending either or both with the supplying dealer, as I normally keep my cars for 7 or 8 years. I understand that if you produ...
