Re: Paint and Rust

The water based paints used on cars nowadays is not as durable as the solvent based paints. It's not just a Mazda issue. I wonder is the new Soul Red is any better than the old one? I see the difference between modern water based paint and traditional cellulose every time I go into my garage, where...

Re: I thought theft was theft !

If the Police were allowed to keep the money raised by speed cameras, they might be able to redirect it into investigation work. In Somerset the Police withdrew from the speed camera partnership because they had to bear the cost of maintaining the fixed camera network whilst receiving none of the pr...

Re: Seat belt buckles

I have the same problem when the grandchildren visit, and not just with the rear seat belt fixings.
My wife struggles with the front passenger seat belt fixing which could do with being a little longer.

Re: Auto Box

When I bought my CX-3 in 2016, the choice of petrol 2WD crossovers with a torque converter transmission was very limited, and still is. The Mazda box is the best automatic I have ever used, and I have driven many, including CVT's and semi-automatics. I have not heard of a single mechanical failure, ...

Re: Paint and Rust

I chose the solid colour Arctic White, not to save money but because a solid paint is more durable than a metallic and white is one of the strongest paint colours. Red is one of the weakest. A paint protection treatment was applied before delivery, free of charge to sweeten the deal, and the car is ...

Re: Fuel MPG

My automatic has never done less than 42mpg from new. Now at 11,500 miles it averages over 43mpg in mostly local running about.

Re: New here with some questions!

The leaking a/c condenser was replaced under warranty at the first annual service in 2017. No problems with the new one so far.

I average over 43mpg in everyday motoring, which I consider to be pretty good for a 2.0L petrol automatic.

Re: Condensation on windscreen

I wonder how many forum members have garages, but do not use them for their intended purpose. I live in a road of 17 properties, all of which have garages, and 8 of these have double garages including my own. I am one of only 3 out of the 17 who keep their cars in the garage. The rest fill them up w...

Re: Tec'

As an old technophobe I tried to keep the "Tec" on my CX-3 as simple as possible. Less to annoy me and less to go wrong. The only thing I wanted which the Sport Nav had and the SE did not was rear parking sensors, so I bought the SE and had the correct Mazda sensors fitted by the dealer before deliv...

Re: What irritates you?

People who address my wife and I as "you guys". We are not American!

People who reply to "how are you?" with "I'm good". I enquired about their well-being, not their behaviour!
