Re: Lane Departure Warning System settings

To move to discussing another feature - has anyone tried out the auto city brake? I have, but didn't mean to. I sneezed whilst slowing down in a line of traffic, but obviously not quick enough, lots of noises from the dash and the wheels really sounded like the ABS had kicked in, in a big way. it w...

What irritates you?

Let me start the ball rolling. As I get older I have noticed that things irritate me more and more, like the following; 1) People who get into a lift and press a floor button when it is already lit. Why? The lift knows where it is going, it doesn’t need reminding. 2) People who leave their office de...

That's some shine you have there Greenman, concourse standard! Andy, your grass needs a cut  - although judging by the condition of the fuscia (in the pot to the left) and what I think is an Acer at the bottom of your garden... I think the pic is from a previous year? Well spotted. it was the ...

Re: Cleaning after 6 months / 13k miles

Hi AndyRen, Just my opinion but I would be careful using a pressure washer on the diamond cut wheels. Past experience has shown thar the finish isn't always that tough and can be damaged with high pressure water. As for keeping the wheels clean I had mine off as soon as I got the car and polished an...

Re: Cleaning after 6 months / 13k miles

I understand your concern but when you look at a clay mitt it is full of small "pockets" that catch the bad stuff and easily rinses away. I have not had any issues of transferring the removed contaminates back onto the car providing you regularly rinse it. A friend of mine who is a valeter uses vari...

Re: Cleaning after 6 months / 13k miles

How do those clay mitts compare? Do you have to renew the clay or buy a new one? Hi Greenman, You just use the mitt until it wears out, you don’t replace the clay. I use a Farecla G3 Clay Mitt from Halfords for £15. I usually get about ten full car applications out of one until it shows signs of we...

Re: Cleaning after 6 months / 13k miles

The top one is worse at it's fitted to the car the wrong way up.

I admire you for using a clay bar, I gave then up when I discovered the Clay Mitt. Just as good and a lot easier.

Re: March Sat Nav Update

As "HouseSpider" said, I didn't have to remove the A pillar. The cable runs under the roof lining then around the top of the A pillar, it easily pushes behind the top edge then down behind the door rubber. There is a space behind the door rubber where the cable fits neatly and doesn't distort the r...
