Re: I'm actually impressed with the fuel economy on this mahine

i've slowly improved and am now averaging circa 50mpg. This is for a daily round trip commute of 120 miles, 50% motorway / 50% A & B roads with an average speed of approx 50 mph. All the 50's.

Re: Why so little choice?

I did ask the dealers this question. Given the number of permutations you could order each vehicle would have to be build specifically for you. This would then increase the wait time for build and then shipment. The majority of Mazdas are built in Japan including I would suspect all the right hand d...

Re: Has anyone "chipped" their CX yet?

Not sure where in the handbook it states that - maybe only specific to your region and /or your CX-5 (this is for CX-3s) as I can't see it. Anyway any data recorder will measure certain engine parameter, probably throttle opening, speed, revs. It may have an accelerometer in it. Probably akin to the...

Re: Has anyone "chipped" their CX yet?

If you actually read my post I mention tractability and a better auto box response (probably due to the torque increase) and nothing about increased speed which you imply. That's why I didn't opt for the 150- 180bhp quite often advertised. The 47mpg that I'm getting suggests that I'm probably drivin...

Re: Has anyone "chipped" their CX yet?

I've recently had my auto 120bhp chipped adding 11bhp & 20Nm of torque (approx 10%). It's now much more tractable at lower revs and the increase seems to suit the auto box better than the standard mapping. Mpg has not changed much - might have slightly improved it even.
