Does it sound like a really "muffled/strangled" sound? I think you'll find it's something to do with the emissions system doing a re-circulation or something like that. All my previous Mazda 6's did the same.

On a side note: the 2019 Mazda CX3 still has crappy central heating controls whereas the Mazda 3 has digital readout settings and twin zones controls -passenger/driver. I much prefer the knob controls. I've found them easier to use without having to take your eyes off the road to press the buttons ...

The stone leather seats are also more supportive in the lumbar region than the cloth or black half leather.

the best thing is to turn it off as that's what most people do. How do you know that? I leave mine on all the time and just let it get on with the job. Never had a problem with it or a reason to turn it off. I'd rather the engine stopped when sat in stationary traffic outside a school or in a town ...

No, you have to be moving. I think they start working somewhere around 5 mph but not sure..................
