Re: Service advice and costs
I agree with you. Think I'll just have the short one now and a big one later. I have a friend who only has his Golf MOT-ed ( and advisables dealt with) plus an oil change once a year. He tops up the fluids himself. Doesn't bother with a formal service of any kind. Not sure I'd dare go down that rash...

Re: Service advice and costs
Most interesting the differences in cost between a “major” and “minor” service. I’m finding that independent garages just offer either of these as a norm for all makes. They don’t seem to know about the £500+ Mazda one-but I can easily understand the plugs cost.

Re: Service advice and costs
Very helpful thanks. I’ll do some ringing around. Attitude and “can do” will get the job. A key priority for me is to get it done properly. If I have to pay more then so be it. For interest-I quickly sussed that the cheapest way forward might have been to let one of the well known fast fit firms do ...

Service advice and costs
I’m due a major service very soon and wonder what I’ll be charged by a dealer and/or a reliable independent. I’m also intending to have the brake pads renewed( recent MOT advisory). Might change the windscreen rubbers for peace of mind too. How much should I allow for all this( vat included) Vehicle...

Re: Recent Travels
Yes-while much of my motoring is local and rural, I’m always surprised how easily the CX3 adapts to longer haul use. Great on a motorway, responsive, excellent acceleration , fuel economy and comfort.

Re: Tyres
I would be so interested to hear from others why they actually needed new tyres. I replaced all four originals last autumn at around £400 cost and am quite happy with what my local dealer sourced for me. What was interesting was his comment “Few of our customers replace tyres here( East Sussex) due ...

Brake pads
Could somebody give me an idea of how much I should allow to have my front brake pads replaced please?
Also thinking of having the rear ones done too while I’m at it.
Costs?

Re: Towing eyelets
Thanks jtonline-Mine was just loose . I think what might have happened is that at some previous stage the spare tyre for pressure was checked and the eyelet -tucked somewhere near-then lost it's cover. Cant see myself ever using eyelets--but you never know!
