Re: Istop warning!

My guess is that the system sees what ampage is being taken and only uses I-stop when it believes the battery can take the load (see Apollo 13). I have found that when I-stop doesn't kick in, turning off the fan ca re-activate it. Current supplied tells you nothing about how much more current may b...

Re: Istop warning!

It isn't that I don't want to use it, I would be glad if it worked at every junction or set of lights. I am frustrated when it refuses to work. It has been back to the dealer several times, and had a new battery fitted under warranty. I have done 30000 miles in 4 years, so it is not "garage je...

Re: Istop warning!

Found this comment on another forum for the Mazda 3; perhaps a forum with less geriatric (and crotchety -self included) users than this one. :D "Tristan-cx5 said: @Baldo Mero : Make a backup before changing anything. Your new values for the test of disabled i-Stop : 731-01-01 5020 C824 21B7 731...

Re: Man in the middle attack

It's all very simple really: if you want peace of mind, you spend a fiver.

Re: Man in the middle attack

That's not the point.

You store your key at home in the pouch and then no one can stand at your front door relaying the car signal amplified by his mate's car receiver and picking up your key-fob's unlock codes.

Re: New CX-30 forum or not?

A multi-homed server running on the same computer instance (and IP address) solves the money problem in setting up two distinct sites. Except of course for buying Domain Registration. So the question is 'will revenue from advertising on the cx-30 site cover the ongoing registrations fees?'

Man in the middle attack

Aldi have a pair of wireless-opaque key-fob pouches on sale for £4.99 right now. If you have keyless entry on your Mazda it is a cheap way to protect against theft.

They work. I had my fob in its pouch right next to the boot lock and I couldn't open it.

Re: Passenger wing mirror not fully closing

I see some here saying that silicone as a lubricant is acceptable on plastics. Before this becomes this forum's 'Law' let me say - for some, it may be. This guide suggests otherwise, and I quote from it; "Incompatible plastic-lubricant combinations often cause operating problems such as stress ...

Re: Passenger wing mirror not fully closing

Be careful with silicone spray on plastics. Somehow the stuff manages to get inside the material and weaken it. I had nylon sliders in my windows which I had used silicone spray on, and one simply came apart, locking the window wide open. I know the silicone was intended for the connectors but if an...
