Are you sure it is regenerating? The fans will run every time the climate control compressor operates and depending on the settings, the istop will not work. You can force a regen on a CX-3 but not by hammering it like you can pugs and such like. They are initiated under normal circumstances by either back pressure in the exhaust or on a time basis.

If you are buying new, the interior is about to be refreshed to include a power seat with lumbar support. It also gets an electric parking brake and much better laid out centre console with storage.

There is a TSB because the weather gets into the gears and can cause them to fail prematurely. They’ve improved the sealing on the later models.
