Re: sign recognition
I refer to my previous post. The dealer and Mazda UK input the Reg Number and receive the specification of the vehicle in return.

Re: iStop intermittent
i stop ceases to work if the engine load creeps up; i. e., the aircon is on, the fan is running at anything above number 2, rear screen heater is on and so on. Obviously so that the alternator can carry on delivering.

Re: sign recognition
Brum1955,
Now you have me thinking! But I assume Mazda UK and the dealer would know this, and more to the point tell me it wasn't fitted to save them the diagnostic effort. The FSC is definitely there.

Re: sign recognition
HouseSpider........it begs a question doesn't it. My test seems quite an obvious one and I can't see any reason why it's not a valid one, or indeed a reason why the dealer wouldn't also carry it out. But suggesting that the inside of the screen wasn't spotless seemed to do for them!! I've sent anoth...

Re: sign recognition
Right!!! I removed the black plastic cover (it unclips by moving it sideways) and slid out the camera, still plugged in. I blocked out the light sensor with some tape, turned on the ignition, put lights on auto and main beam. then put a very bright LED light right into the camera lens..................

Re: sign recognition
Thanks Dave, it does indeed sound similar.
Any ideas on how to remove the black plastic cover?

Re: sign recognition
It's official............I give up! I'm beginning to doubt whether there is actually a camera behind that black plastic housing. I contacted Mazda UK a couple of weeks ago about the auto dipping and road sign recognition, or rather the lack of them. They suggested a software update, which was done b...

Re: sign recognition
Referring to the previous post regarding possible Camera issues. One presumes the "lane departure warning" also uses the forward camera, and that seems to work OK, if annoyingly so!!!

Re: Tec'
I love the tech. HUD and rear view camera are brilliant!! What annoys me about it, is when it doesn't do what it says on the tin. I can live without auto dip, road sign recognition and hill start assist, never had it before and don't need it, but the fact that they don't work just winds me up!! Like...

Re: sign recognition
Thanks for the observations. Switches set for the headlamp dip, but I have to agree that, and the road sign recognition, seem to be part of the same camera issue.
I will pursue it with the dealer again!!
