Re: DCDC Converter recall

I have just had the recall too. After reading the mechanics of the energy recovery system, I wonder whether the sometimes reported jerky/lurching feeling, on over-run, can be attributed to this system. One would assume that the capacitor is being charged by the energy recovery system under engine br...

Re: Jerky ride

After reading about the I-eloop DC DC converter recall, I wonder how much of the jerky, lurching feeling on over-run is actually down to the energy recovery system? Deceleration is the time when the capacitor is being charged up, I presume.

Re: Recommendations for new tyres

My Toyo Proxes seem fine to me, reasonably quiet too. But haven't been off-roading yet to check grip levels yet!!!!

Re: Jerky ride

I too get a hunting, lurching. Usually in a low gear, trailing throttle situation. Feels like the fuel injection is some how out of sync with the air flow. Carburrettor engines suffer hunting, i.e., speed variation at idle, when the mixture is too rich. It could be an ECU or sensor issue.

Re: Noise!

Noise?? My CX came Toyo Proxes. Silent as the proverbial!! Then again I also drive an MGB GT V8. Induction roar, wind noise, exhaust burble, axle wine and clunk. Anything quieter than front of house at an Oasis concert would be regarded as quiet.
It's all relative!!

Re: Whats the real MPG

Well i'm still waiting to see the "magic" 40, in any situation!! I did see 39 today, on a longish journey, so maybe it's slowly getting there after 1700miles. Hardly, in old fashioned terms, run-in really!!

Re: Sat Nav

After several navigation issues, I contacted HERE who produced the mapping software. We exchanged several e-mails concerning non recognition of addresses and addresses which were entered correctly but saved as something entirely different, even in a different location, and odd other issues. The chap...

Re: Stopping engine with istop

I'm sure somebody, somewhere will be able to disable i-stop permanently. As for benefits?? Battery drain, starter gear wear, I cringe every time i forget to disable it. Fuel economy?...................Doubtful. Pollution?............Crawling through a busy city, possibly, but not sure how the mixtur...

Re: Hunting

Andy, Not exactly, it's more "lurching" on a trailing throttle, in low gears.e. when slowing down for a junction. More pronounced when slightly downhill.
