I think the bit in the Owner's manual explaining about the I-ACTIVESENSE Smart Brake Support and Smart City Brake Support, that reads:
In the following cases, the laser sensor (front) cannot detect vehicles ahead correctly, and each system may be unable to operate normally.
... Elongated luggage or cargo is loaded onto installed roof rails and covers the laser sensor (front) ...
was written with you in mind :lol:

Lol, I just Googled it and I think the rules relating to oar-propelled rowing boats on a vehicle roof are that if the overhang back & front is between 1 & 3.05m then you just need a coloured marker at each end.

If over 3.05m overhang front and back you have to give two days notice to the police and carry an assistant. Max length is 27.4m.

Does that sound correct igloo_si?

I don't fancy driving with that on the roof though. :shock:

i read that under 2m each side requires no assistance just the markers. single is 8m long so all ok.
you get used to it. drove it no motorway, through town, parking...
