I have an issue about the istop information showing on the info screen. In the first month when I bought the car somehow I managed to make the istop screen show every time istop is enabled and hide when the car starts- no matter what the current screen is /before istop engages/ - music, nav, phone etc.
Now the only way to see seconds istop counting is to be on the istop screen permanently.
The only option I've seen that's similar to what you describe is to go to the Fuel Economy page and open it's menu and choose the cog icon and then turn ON the Ending Display option. See page 4-91 of the 2017 UK Owner's Manual. Then, when the ignition is switched from on to off, the actual energy effciency is displayed. See page 4-95.
If you've seen some different behaviour, then I think it may be specific to your particular country.

Ours stopped working today for no reason, turned it off and then back on again and that sorted the problem.

i stop ceases to work if the engine load creeps up; i. e., the aircon is on, the fan is running at anything above number 2, rear screen heater is on and so on. Obviously so that the alternator can carry on delivering.
