Sorry Mervyn with a P, I digressed your thread, I have the Jan maps and find them pretty accurate, certainly within 100m of tomtom, traffic another matter, I have routing setup as "easy" as I find when I go down to Cornwall or anywhere rural it takes me down cart/tractor tracks.
I presume you found your way home?

Had updated map software prior to trip. I find you quite often can,t complete postcode entry as it blanks out what it considers to be unavailable or incorrect letters or numbers. My sister has a Mazda 2 and has same problem. Will be due first service after this trip so will see what's what then - assuming I get back!
Yep, that confused me in the early days of owning the car.
Lots of people and companies don't know what their correct postcode is, or they simply write it down incorrectly. Test one or two of the failing postcodes against the Royal Mail database, here: http://www.royalmail.com/find-a-postcode and I expect you'll find they don't exist.

As a belated update the issue with Satnav was a known fault which was addressed with a dealer update during first service (not just the navigation which I had done for myself).

Having problems with brightness on Satnav. Stays bright for a while then darkens, then returns bright without any inputs.
Is there any control for this, or is it a connection problem?
Any advice appreciated.

BLUE.
If you have the headlights control on the steering wheel set to Auto, and you go in and out of sufficient shade, the headlights will come on and go off (not always easy to spot during the day). Whilst the headlights are on, the default setting is to dim the centre screen on the dashboard.alanwoodie wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2017 11:52 am Having problems with brightness on Satnav. The illumination dimmer can be cancelled by rotating the instrument panel illumination knob to the right until a beep sound is heard while the instrument cluster is dimmed with the ignition switched ON. This also prevents the centre screen from dimming.
There are also Auto, Day, Night & Brightness options in the Settings section of the centre screen. Have a look in your Owner's Manual and adjust to your particular requirements.
