Well first real test north to south - and it failed miserably. Christopher Columbus had more reliable equipment! Not helped on a warm day when it decided it needed a rest and whole system cut out completely. Just not impressed - even a street name that proved to be 500 yards away - "no items found" I got where needed to cos had the foresight to print off google map directions - though wife navigating just added to the aggro !!! Lucky for both I was unarmed at the time.

I've found it to be pretty good. I usually find destinations by their postcode. On one occasion it could not find what I wanted but that was because I had been given an invalid postcode.

Download the Mazda Toolbox application onto a PC and check that you have the latest maps. See https://mazda-eu.naviextras.com/shop/po ... ectedTab=1 They're released very infrequently, but updates are free for the first three years.

Ask your Mazda dealer to update the firmware on the Infotainment system as that may fix the "whole system cut out completely" issue.

Thanks Jt. Had updated map software prior to trip. I find you quite often can,t complete postcode entry as it blanks out what it considers to be unavailable or incorrect letters or numbers. My sister has a Mazda 2 and has same problem. Will be due first service after this trip so will see what's what then - assuming I get back!

I expect you know this, but just in case note that it is necessary to enter a space in the appropriate position between the first and second parts of the post code.

Nothing like that lol Just a decent bit of software that's really cheap and has traffic too etc. No way I'd pay the over inflated price for the Mazda traffic

I would simply say I paid for satnav, I expect satnav, not pin the tail on the donkey! Been to 3 weddings, no wonder the brides didn't look familiar! (I jest). Oh and the aircon was brill. Thank you.
