Is this the 1st ???
The wife's sl has had a recall tailgate support struts !!!!
My sport up to now has not both bought the same day 14 months ago.
Now don't all rush at once, I want them both done before they run out. :D

Mines been done while they investigated the aircon(!), apparently the original struts are prone to rust, not that I noticed any problem. Also they told me it's not a recall as it's nothing to do with safety, it's just pre-empting a future problem so you could wait for the next service.

I got the recall notification letter for our 65 plate CX-5 yesterday, I didn't consider this might affect the CX-3 as well.

Do we know when they corrected the fault on new models? As I might as well ask them to do both at the same time.

The tailgate struts issue was first mentioned here by igloo_si in September last year - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=847&p=3749&hilit=tailgate#p3740

Mazda have registered it as a safety recall with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) because of the potential for serious injury if the struts were to fail to keep the tailgate raised. The Mazda Campaign Reference is AG014A and the registered keeper will receive a letter if their vehicle is affected. Dealers can also check online by using the VIN.

This is the link to the search results for any CX-3 related recall information according to the UK VOSA site :-

https://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recall ... search.asp

It concerns the potential tailgate strut failure on a number of Mazda models, not just the CX-3.
