I’ve been reading up on remaps & tuning boxes for the cx3 1.5 diesels. TDI claim to be able to increase the bhp from 105 to around 130, and increase the torque from 270nm to 320 if any members are interested. That’s very impressive! They produce a print out confirming these figures too. These boxes are adjustable so you can choose economy or performance at the push of a button! If anyone has done this or intends to, please upload a real world review.

They claim a 60hp boost (50%!!) to the 120hp Skyactive engine..... now really??? :roll:

Funny thing is, the 150hp only gets 175hp and lower torque even though, as far as i know, the 120hp is only detuned compared to the 150hp but otherwise identical. So the two engines should get the same output.

Well, horses for courses. I test drove a new 120 bhp Mazda 3 a short while ago and was unimpressed by the power available. I found it sluggish compared to my 148, bhp CX3, especially at roundabouts. I couldn't trade down.
Mazda paint is crap! Mazda should be ashamed of themselves!.

I was unaware the 120 was a detuned 150!... So that's how they can get a 50% gain.

The 2.0 Skyactiv-G MX-5 has 184PS so it would be interesting to know what the difference is that gets another 64PS in that engine!!!

That engine is modified to rev higher compared to the ones in the other mazda cars.
Those 184 hp is at 7000 rpm, on the normal 2.0 Max power is at 6000 rpm.

What you really really want is ........ Additional torque from lower in the rev range.
