Reversing out of a spot in a multi-story today I did a little damage. Fortunately, the paint on the body just wiped off, and no damage to the mirror or electrics, just the plastics.

Any thoughts on the best way to get this cleaned up, without spending a fortune?

Hi Ben,

I'm sorry to say that you can't buy bits for the door mirrors from a Mazda dealer, they come as a complete unit (excluding glass) and are expensive.

You could try an ebay search, as someone may be selling the part you need from an otherwise damaged mirror.

Ok, makes sense. Could you possibly confirm what that plastic part would be called? Of what I should sensibly be searching for.

Sorry for the silly question, but really outside my comfort zone on this one!

Hi Ben,

Have a look on here. You may have to get the cover painted yourself though.

This thread from anchorman will be useful if you want to try replacing the mirror yourself.

When somebody damaged the mirror on my Alfa I searched the breakers yards and got one that looked like new for a fraction of the cost of a new one. No harm in looking. https://www.breakeryard.com/partfinder

Well, I'd probably call it 'door mirror stem cover', but I don't think it has an official name. I had a quick look for you here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/Mazda-Casing-W ... n_39095121 - but didn't see anyone currently selling any mirror parts or a second-hand mirror assembly for a CX-3. :(

This US site shows the part numbers for various parts of the external mirror :-

It looks like the main mirror body is only available as a complete assembly.
