Thanks also to jtonline for posting the link. Would I be correct to assume that the reset can only be done by a Mazda dealership using the "M-MDS" or will any generic diagnostic system allow it to be reset?? My car was purchased as a used car from a VW Dealership and that's where it will be going back for the oil change you see.

You can ignore the bit about checking the monitor is turned on using M-MDS (Mazda Modular Diagnostic System).

The reset procedure is also detailed in the Owner's Manual, page 6-26, 6-27, I guess for owners that want to do a DIY oil change.

The European oil specifications for the SKYACTIV-D 1.5 are on page 9-6., although you may find a non-Mazda dealer will just use whatever they already have. I think the Mazda oil (or an ACEA C3 equivalent) is low soot -- VW oil may meet ACEA C3 spec.
