What coolant ( just for emergency topping up) should I buy for the CX3 if I was in Halfords?

I bought 5L of genuine Mazda Premium FL22 Gold, Long Life (Pre-mixed) Coolant from the parts department at my dealer. C122-CL-005 4X for £12.82 inc. VAT.

Elsewhere, e.g. online, you need to make sure it's the Mazda stuff labelled FL22.

Not sure about Halfords equivalent. I think FL22 is 55% ethylene glycol, but you can get into bother if you get the wrong stuff so I'd stick with the Mazda genuine as it's no more expensive. Do not use coolants containing alcohol, methanol, Borate or Silicate.

I wouldn’t waste my money buying and carrying around coolant - if I needed an emergency top up, I’d just add water.

Then take it to the garage for investigation.

I don't carry mine around, but I have topped up between services. There is no leak, so it was either because of evaporation, or possibly as a result of the radiator being taken out and put back when the air con was repaired. If you just top up with water, you are advised not to use tap water but to use demineralised water, but if we're talking emergencies, I understand what you're saying.
