Are you sure it is reporting that the SD Card, rather than the HDD on your PC, hasn't got enough space? The latter needs around 10GB of free space to allow for download of the revised map data before it is installed on the card. If you do find your PC HDD free space is insufficient, then one way to free up space is to delete the files from a previous update in the following directory on a Windows PC :-

C:\Users\{desktop name or similar}\Appdata\Roaming\Mazda\download_cache\

On my SD card, the stats after the last 2 updates I did were :-

Space used on SD card = 6.82 GB
Total space on SD card = 7.39 GB

Space used on SD card = 6.86 GB
Total space on SD card = 7.39 GB

So even the last update leaves roughly 0.5GB free on the card

NB: I would not delete files on the actual SD card without first getting advice from Mazda UK Assistance. You can e-mail them on mmukassistance@mazdaeur.com outlining the problem. I was having problems earlier this year after updating my SD card but it continued to show either errors or an update being required and they were very helpful in resolving the problem after various investigations.
