passenger-side doesn't fold entirely, but adjustments work fine.
dealer said they can't raise a warranty claim as it's got a scratch, suggesting a hit.
fitted replacement is £400
has anyone taken the outside mirror apart?
Never done it, but I believe the correct way to remove the rear cover is to remove the mirror glass and then poke the little clips that hold the cover on.
There's a diagram of the CX-5 mirror (which is pretty similar) here - http://www.mcx5.org/outer_mirror_garnis ... n-730.html and there are probably some videos on YouTube that'll help. Not sure what you'll find once you've removed the cover.
Getting the glass out and back in again can be a bit tricky, apparently, - my dealer broke mine when replacing the assembly under warranty when folding became noisy.
