Hi

I see there have been problems with the Air Con & condenser unit etc and I'm going for a test drive a SE-L-NAV model next week that was registered 1/9/2017. Would this car have this problem?

TIA

Paul

Probably not. The TSB for the condenser fault covered cars produced up to Nov 2016 and the TSB for the evaporator fault to March 2017 depending on VIN. If the car does develop a fault it will be repaired under the three year manufacturer's warranty.

Thanks jtonline, with the car registered in September 2017, hoping all will be fine.

Hi I'm in Quebec Canada. I own a 2016 CX-3 GX Sport Auto AWD. Is there a way to know whether this TSB applies to my auto with the VIN. There are no outstanding recalls but TSB's are not handled the same. The air con seems to be working but not blasting out ice cold air. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

See this post viewtopic.php?f=8&t=964&start=90#p6460 for the TSB on the condenser. I can't find a link on the forum to the Evaporator TSB R107/16B Revised May 22 2017, but a Mazda dealer will be able to test for leaks.

Here is anchorman's posting which contains the TSBs for both the evaporator leakage and control unit problems

Yeah, there's a later one for the evaporator which also covers the CX-3.

My partners 2016 CX3 “supposedly” had the condenser replaced last week at our local dealers. Driving the car today I noticed some condensation in the cabin whilst driving which in my opinion shouldn’t happen in an air con environment. Also when turning the temp all the way down it just wasn’t cold.

Have any other members had this problem of being told its “fixed” only to find otherwise and if so what was the underlying cause (could be of course we have a leak but I would have thought the dealer would have pressure tested the system)

I don't think the dealers have the equipment to pressure test the system. They just change the part and refill with gas. Obviously you still have a problem. Maybe they just changed the condenser as it was a known problem instead of checking the complete system. It maybe the evaporator is at fault. They may have even forgotten to re-charge the system. Sounds silly, but still possible.
