Hi, I need to top up the engine oil in my car, the Mazda dealer is some distance away, I believe it’s 5w30, do I assume fully synthetic? I have the spec from the manual but that bit is unclear, thanks in advance

If you're not buying Mazda Ultra 5W-30 from the parts department of a Mazda dealer, then the equivalent is any 5W-30 oil that meets ACEA A5/B5 specification. Oil bottles and most online retailers will specify what specification the oil meets.

E.g:

Halfords

On level ground, warm the engine to normal operating temperature, then turn off and wait 5 minutes, wipe dipstick, reinsert, then remove and check. Anywhere between Min and Max mark is normal, if the level is near or below Min mark, add enough oil to bring to Max mark but do not fill beyond the Max mark.
