Does anyone know the method a 2019 SE Nav + uses for the TPMS? I have read conflicting reports between a valve sensor and an abs sensor. Reason I ask is because I think the car needs 18" wheels but we got a deal on the SE we couldn't refuse. If it uses valve sensors it just adds to the cost.
Thanks

There are no valve sensors. It is the abs system that monitors the revolutions of each wheel and can tell if one has lost pressure.

I'm pretty sure the 2019 model CX-3's still use the abs sensors, rather than a valve sensor, to determine tyre pressure changes. The latest Owners Manual dated July 2018 mentions the abs sensor - see the extract below :-

They’ve definitely gone electronic on later CX5s.

Can you post a photo of your valve?

TPMS went off of the first time today. An initial visual inspection didn't reveal anything but checked the pressures when I got home and the rear off side tyre was at 1.7 bar compared to the nearside at 2.15bar. A closer inspection has revealed a nail is the culprit.
At least it shows the system works.

Sorry about the puncture, but it's good to know the system works.
