Hi
My 2015 1.5L wrench light stated flashing. It started after I did a reset following an oil change.
There are no maintenance warnings. Any ideas on what may be causing this?
Thanks for the help.

Try this..

1) Car off, press start button once
2) Press and hold start button and trip meter(without starting the car) for several seconds, an orange triangle will start flashing, when triangle stops flashing let go
3) Orange wrench is now gone

Have you checked the oil level? I think on the diesel there's an 'X' on the dipstick which (I again think) means too much, so level must be lowered.

There are no conditions in the Owner's Manual where the wrench flashes. It's normally off or on.

FLASHING WRENCH SOLVED

it is a warning to draining fuel sedimentor. Comes on every 20000kms of driving

Go to your mazda dealer, using their diagnostic equipment go to data reset and reset sediment. Will require doing everything 20000kms or at service

Well-my vehicle has done in excess of 13000 miles and is not due a service for several months or another 5000 miles--no wrench flashing with me?

This is the advice contained in the Mazda CX-5 manual regarding the flashing Wrench for Diesel Engine cars.

Type A instrument cluster

Perform maintenance in accordance with the message.

Type B instrument cluster

When the ignition is switched ON, the wrench indicator light is illuminated and then turns off after a few seconds.

When illuminated

The wrench indicator light turns on under the following conditions:

When the preset maintenance period has arrived.

When it’s time to replace the engine oil.

Refer to Maintenance Monitor (Search).

When flashing (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)

The sedimentor separates water from the fuel.

If water accumulates in this filter, the warning light will flash. When it does, consult an expert repairer, we recommend an Authorised Mazda Repairer as soon as possible.
