All new Alloys now 😁 my local dealer replaced them yesterday when they carried out the 3rd year service. Even though the service desk put a post it note on the front of the job card stating new alloys to change they apparently "didn't see it". Had to leave the car another day at the dealer, after apologise they reduced my service and MOT to £212. I have bought some wheel protection hoping to avoid any further rusting problems.

I have a Mazda 5 2013.
Had terrible problems with my wheels, turned black after 2yrs which they replaced, after the 3yrs they didn't want to know. Now they're black. Apparently it's a very cheap form of Alloy and not real Alloy. Just utter Rubbish from Mazda and they still seem to be doing it. One mechanic thought I'd had they sprayed Black.
Poor service from Mazda.
No-one will have any luck with them.

Alloys on my CX3 are generally okay so far, just the odd minor blemish and coming up 5 years old. Whereas the alloys on our 7 year old Volvo are starting to show signs of corrosion, similar to the authors, plus paint blistering within the wheel nut recesses too.

Have found Autoglym Magma seems to work better than some supposed wheel cleaners at shifting brake deposits embedded in the alloys.

One or two pavements chips on the outer rim-yes-but no rust at all after 5 years.
Wheels get a weekly quick wash all over with a squirt of diluted washing up liquid well sponged around-then a rinse.
I must be doing something right
