Not keen on these advertising links that have started appearing on random words and phrases in the posts.

I’ve used viglink since the forum started, it’s built in to phpbb too. Does it seem different now?

Well that's weird then, because I've only just started seeing the links.
Dynamic Blue in my signature was underlined by VigLink in one topic yesterday, and when I clicked on the link it took me off this site onto one selling a baby blue fridge with dynamic cooling. If nobody clicks the links, because they're not relevant to the post, then it doesn't monetize the site.

Yes that seems odd. What it is supposed to do is identify say Amazon products and link to those. I think a baby blue fridge might be a bit of a stretch!

I haven't come across *any* links in any of the text in any of the threads and thats using a PC, an Android phone and tablet - if any of that might make a difference?

Just got a link on BaggyGreen's latest comment for Bluetooth Weirdness -

"Well, I walked in today with a lot on my mind... forgot to have the phone turned OFF... but the car connected to it.

Variable, it was parked on the roof, not several levels down. That's the only variable."

The last two words "only variable" were highlighed and took me to a German titled website Whirlpool mit der Badewanne von 190 cm..... (https://www.emotion-24.co.uk/whirlpool- ... 0000001067) for a jaccuzzi bath.

Where did that come from?

This morning was the first time I have seen these links - and the same whirlpool one appeared along with JT's Dynamic Blue Mica!

OK, so.... Using Firefox on my PC the shield is appearing in the address bar enabling 'Tracking Protection' which stops the Viglinks.
Using Firefox on my Android devices I have to use 'Private Tabs' to enable the same tracking protection and consequently the blocking of Viglink, or just 'enable tracking protection' in the settings/privacy menu,(stops all the adverts as well - bonus!) but up till now I've been using 'normal' tabs with tracking enabled and the Viglinks have only just started showing in my Android Firefox browser!?!?! Weirdness!
