Hi,
Picked up a new CX-3 last May after previously owning a CX-5. My wife uses it mostly and loves the car and a much better size compared to the CX-5 also looks great in deep blue crystal mica.
My only disappointment has been the power delivery, there seems to be quite a significant turbo lag and lack of torque lower down the rev range which I have not experienced before on any car and makes me wonder if I should have opted for the petrol. I just wondered if this was a common thing with the 1.5d?

I've not driven the diesel CX-3, but I believe they are low compression engines compared with most diesels. That would account for the lack of torque at low revs.

Thanks for the replies, maybe worth getting the dealer to check it over. If you hit the accelerator at low revs there's a good 1-2 sec delay before the car takes off, it's quite disconcerting and I don't remember it on the demonstator car I tried, although it was only a short test drive.

Chris,
This info might be of interest :-
CX-3
2.0P 2WD 120bhp 204lb/ft 0-62 9.0
2.0P AWD 150bhp 204lb/ft 0-62 8.7
1.5D 2WD 105bhp 270lb/ft 0-62 10.1
1.5D AWD 105bhp 270lb/ft 0-62 10.1
CX-5
2.0P 2WD 165bhp 210lb/ft 0-62 10.4
2.2D 2WD 150bhp 380lb/ft 0-62 9.4
2.2D AWD 175bhp 420lb/ft 0-62 9.0
I always thought as a general rule torque affected acceleration wheareas bhp affected top speed. If so, the diesel versions of the CX-3 ought to accelerate quicker than petrol but this doesn't appear to be the case if the 0-62mph figures stated are true. Hmmm. Whatever the engine, pick-up when accelerating is affected by the gear of course and maybe - if you have an automatic - a quick blip of the left hand steering wheel paddle whilst prodding the accelerator will improve the response time?

Thanks, mine is a manual. Anyway, it's now booked in with the dealer on Friday to get checked over. They didn't seem to think there should be any pick-up problems on the diesel but they'll probably just tell me I should have bought a sports car!
