I had a Mazda 2 as a courtesy car, lovely little car, had to rev it a lot to get up hills but it was doing 50+ per gallon. Unfortunately the CX-3 is only likely to return a maximum of 40 in urban/town driving. On the brighter side it will return 50+ on the open road. So my suggestion to improve your average mpg is to visit your friends more often. :D

I average over 43mpg in everyday motoring, which I consider to be pretty good for a 2.0L petrol automatic.
Sounds about right. My average is just under 45mpg over almost 2yrs. I'd say 40mpg about town n urban is spot on. But always depends on how heavy the foot is and how many junctions n hilly the terrain. Mpg best between 30 to 55mph

(I have no interest in buying a diesel.) Most of my driving will be in the city of Manchester with only very occasional trips to visit friends in Wales. Can any owners give me meaningful figures on their fuel consumption?
Hello, we had 2 Mazda2's before a CX3, we have found the mpg to be just under what we were getting from the 2... 90% town driving in the CX3 we are getting 40mpg , in the 2 we were near 42-44mpg doing the same commute .. Hope this helps... it is a much better drive, we have no regrets ...
shop around tho, loads of deals out there...we travelled and save thousands £
