Dear All,
Update following 1st service and investigation of these issues by main dealer. It transpires that my battery was the cause of the problem - a 24 hour 'special' recharge of the battery (the dealer said it had to be re-charged whilst the battery is sitting in water!) has dealt with the previously non- functioning auto wipers / auto headlights. Dealer advised that the intelligent battery senses when it is low on power and automatically turns off non -essential functions (such as auto lights / wipers and istop) to preserve battery charge. Dealer says that because my journeys are generally short commutes, over a period of time the operation of istop has reduced the charge in the battery - they recommend that I disable istop so this doesn't happen again.
