Hi all,

Just waiting to collect my CX-3 next week (details below signature).

Having previously owned two MX-5 over the past decade, I am looking forward to returning to Mazda and have been browsing the forums and have a question regaring mapping.

As a new registered owner of the CX-3, will I still be entitled to update my maps under the 3 year allowance from new, or is this only for the first registered owner?

Also just found that there has been a recall on the CX-3, so I am contacting the dealership (Toyota) who are selling me the vehicle (it was a PX from the previous owner).

Thank you
Wayne

Hi. and welcome to the forums.
I believe you can register an account with the Mazda Toolbox software and you should still be entitled to the remainder of the free three year map update period with the SD Card from the car.
It’s an offence for a motor dealer to sell a car with an outstanding vehicle safety recall. You can check outstanding recalls by entering the vehicle VIN here - https://www.mazda.co.uk/owners/recalls/ or the registration number here - https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall

Julian,

Thank you for your swift reply and for the information regarding the map updates and vehicle recall. I will contact the garage to ensure that any work that requires to be done, is done so before I collect.

Regards
Wayne

Julian,

Just an update on the recall (fuel pump). Contacted the garage in Cardiff and they cannot get it repaired before March, so I phoned Bath Mazda at Lansdown and they have ordered the part ready for when I buy the car in 2 weeks time. They informed me that the part(s) will be in ready for me to drop it off with them once I buy it.

Still slightly apprehensive about possibly driving a car where the fuel pump issue may cause the car to stop.......anywhere! But will take the risk as Mazda have stated that if the problem hasn't already occured, then the chances that it will are very slim!

Regards
Wayne
