Hi all,

I think I'd like to buy a 1.5 Diesel AWD Automatic CX-3, but can't find anyone that can provide a test drive. It's very frustrating :x
The posts in these forums make interesting reading, and I'll let you know if I make any progress, or give up and buy something different.

- Jules.

My local dealer has a 1.5 diesel manual if that is any use or are you looking to test drive the diesel auto?

I think most of us took a leap of faith as Mazda UK put up their hands and admitted they dropped one by not ordering enough autos when they launched, I think it was three for the UK.

Welcome to the club.

If you can get a FWD diesel auto it will feel the same unless you really throw it around or encounter bad weather.

If you want to pay for a temporary any driver premium, you can drive mine but I am in Derbyshire.

Thanks Gus, unfortunately I can't drive a manual :( It appears to get good reviews from owners and the motoring press, but I can't bring myself to spend £24k without having driven it myself.

Thanks, so far I haven't been able to find any automatic demonstrators. The offer of a drive of yours is very generous, and I may well look into the logistics of that if Mazda can't help :)

Hello jt my nearest dealer in Twickenham did have a petrol sport nav auto as a demo the last time I visited, may be worth a call. Not to far around the M25. The auto box is very good.

My local garage didn't have an auto so I told them that if they wanted to sell one to me they'd find one for me to drive; they found one and they got the sale!

Thanks p6nsh, Twickenham is further than I want to travel really, particularly if it's the petrol engine rather than diesel, but it's something to consider.

alanandlyn, the first dealer I visited wasn't that interested, he said he would ask his area man the following day and call me back; but I'm still waiting.
I was told by another dealer over the 'phone that they had an automatic diesel and so I arranged a test drive. When I turned up for my appointment on Saturday, I was told 'it hasn't arrived'. They gave me a price with part-ex for my car & I'm waiting for them to tell me if & when they can get a suitable CX-3 demonstrator.

This afternoon I used the contact form on the Mazda website to ask them for help, and a Customer Relations Executive has emailed to say he will "...pass this information onto the relevant people within Mazda UK to locate the closest dealership to you that have an automatic CX-3 available to test drive..."

Still no word from Mazda UK or dealers. However, I found an ex-demonstrator/salespersons car for sale at a dealer 'up North'. I had a test drive this afternoon and agreed a part-ex deal. Driving home in an unfamiliar vehicle in the dark and rain took a lot of concentration, but the sat nav worked well and the auto speed wipers and bright headlights are great.

You test drove it and brought it home all in one go?!!

Congratulations. What do you think of the auto box?
