Luggage / tie hooks - are there any?

Post by st3v3cx-3 » Sun Sep 13, 2020 7:55 pm

I've had a quick look in the boot, and tried checking the Owners Manual, but can't see any obvious sign of these. The only reference to tie hooks - couldn't find one for luggage hooks - in the manual is the sentence "Tie down all heavy objects, whether luggage or cargo, using the tie down hooks" on the page extract below.

Would appreciate pointers from anyone who has found them

There is one on each side of the boot - see Cargo Securing Loops on page 5-152 of the Owner's Manual.
I use one every day to secure my dog.

🐕 Hopefully just whilst you're driving it & not for the whole day 😀

Ha ha, yes. It just stops him launching himself out of the boot into the road when I open the tailgate once we've arrived somewhere, because he forgets what the command 'stay' means if he spots something interesting like a squirrel/another dog. I also have a Travall dog guard above the rear seats for extra piece of mind. He travels in the boot on my commute each day and when we drive to the woods etc. for walks.

Thanks for that jtonline. Searching an electronic version of the Owners Manual doesn't help when person(s) writing the manual refer to them as tie hooks in one section of the manual then in two sections later call them Cargo Securing Loops - blooming "Americanism", we call stuff luggage in the car boot and make up your mind if you are going to call them hooks or loops

Out of interest I did see what looked like a pair of those loops on the inside of rear raised section of the boot but didn't try to mess with them in case they were something completely different. Will have another look now I know where the pair near the seat are located and can check how they operate.

In addition to the loops in the diagram above, there are a further two inside the boot at either end of the panel that has the lock striker plate on it.

There are two bars in the rear seat backs (also shown in diagram above), and they are the anchor points for tether straps on some ISOFIX child restraints.

I did check this evening and found those 2 rear ones are the same type of hoops. Strange they weren't shown on that page in the manual. Will try the front ones out in the next couple of days to see if they will help tie down a folding bike against the back of the seats. Maybe all 4 with enough bungee cords will work too.
