42.5, as my wife drives it most I’ll have to have words

Just did a 40 mile run and averaged 46.5

I think there's a danger people get too fixated with their mpg.

Personally I just drive and it is what it is

Very true. There is more to motoring economy than mpg. The biggest cost is probably depreciation, but it is unseen and often unconsidered until the time comes to sell or trade in.

Yes, but I would still like to get somewhere near the advertised quotes otherwise I might as well have brought a bus :D

I realise the advertised mpg has come about after being tested in perfect conditions. I'm not a speed freak with a lead boot, and it's early days as I have only had the car a few weeks and have yet to do a longish trip. At the moment I'm getting just over 36mpg. If I eventually get 40 or above mpg then I'll be happy.

I'm with zoylander and rockposer on this. I checked it initially to make sure it was not guzzling it down. It averages around 43 mpg and the best I ever recorded was 52 mpg on an 80 mile round trip. Now I have it set on the mileage left before a fill and enjoy the fun of driving it.
