I have to agree the in car sat nav leaves a lot to be desired. My Garmin is soooo much better. The traffic information is far better, you don't have to have a route planned and it still shows you the trouble ahead. The satellite speedo is far more accurate than the car speedo and allows you to control your speed better. It is not just the Mazda sat navs that are second class, I was in a Merc today and that wasn't any better. It's about time the car manufacturers did a deal with the sat nav specialists so we didn't need to have a second unit stuck on the dash.

Did you pay for the connected services then?Gus wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2017 10:36 amI still do it... but that is because I find the traffic info so terrible on the built in unit, I use a Tomtom for anything over 30 miles.deep blue wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2017 8:13 am Sadly no. It's the one thing I find irksome about in-car sat navs! When I had the Tom Tom I was able to sit in front of the telly and spend some time plotting routes and waypoints for holidays. It would be a really good idea if you could disconnect the Mazda sat nav and so have a portable device, one that you could also use in another vehicle, like a holiday hire car etc. Ho-hum.
