I notice the battery seems to be of the old style where we need to keep an eye on levels in the individual cells.
Never seen these for years as the batteries all seemed to be the sealed maintenance free type.
I have a ctek trickle charger which i would like to use when i go on holiday for 3 weeks in September and im curious as to whether it will be ok on this type of battery?

I am in a similar position to "Nosher", in that I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger and a Sport Nav 2.0L Petrol with a "Stop & Start" battery. The battery does appear to be a Lead Acid, unsealed, type. I had thought that AGM batteries were sealed. The Label on the top of my battery has the following:
"20HR 65Ah
CCA 520A
D23(JIS)
FOR STOP & START"
If this is a lead acid battery why is AGM mode correct for charging?

Wouldn't of thought your battery would have an issue. Left mine for two weeks with no problems whatsoever
