Thanks for the update rockposer. Will try it over the weekend. I hope it still fits on the standard 8GB SD card - if not, does anyone know how an owner gets the updated version even if they buy their own blank larger capacity SD card?

Many thanks for that info David. I see the space used has gone up from 6898 MB on the last update I carried out in early January this year. Checking back on my records, the last 4 sizes since I bought my car in April 2016 have been 6721MB, 6786MB, 6898MB and now 7048MB. Wonder if it will stay within the 7572MB limit before my 3yr free updates period ends in May2019?

I had to roll back to the update, several maps are corrupted and the car won't accept the card

Had my first attempt at updating the Nav - went quite smoothly considering I use a Mac and usually end up with some compatibility issues.

Took about 30 mins to download and update the SD card.

So far seems to be working ok :D

Not had an issue before. Will leave it a day or so and try again

What happens when the size of the map update exceeds the card size?

Will Mazda issue larger cards?

Got the map update to work on third attempt. Mind you the map's still out of date. Two A-Roads local to me are still showing the wrong speed limit even though the limit was changed around 5 years ago!

Drats :!: Tried the update last evening and found that my fairly recent new Windows desktop with its small SSD drive doesn't have enough free space to download the file  Of course Toolbox won't work on a Linux machine  Oh well, either need to do some drastic pruning or bring forward a hard drive upgrade I'd planned to do in a few months time anyway.
