Evening guys
Had my lovely CX3 for around 6-7 weeks now, loving her but with one minor issue - Only getting 35-36 mpg.
Read a few threads where people mentioning 40- 45
Done a couple of longer runs and still best seen is 38.
Only got around 800 miles on clock, do you think this will improve?
Dont drive like a madman, but not like a vicar either !!
MPG
DaveJ, same here. Ave. 36/37 mpg over the last two years.
Mixed driving style gentle/fast, maintain correct gears, short & long journeys. Premium unleaded always. 2nd annual service imminent.
However, still pretty impressive consumption for Mazda's 2.0L lump. My previous 2.5 V6 averaged 24mpg.

I have had a 2.0 litre CX3 auto. for a couple of weeks now, and with only a couple of hundred town miles on the clock I am getting 34 mpg.
The dealership assure me that once I hit around 1000 miles the fuel consumption will slowly start to improve.
I am not holding my breath.

I have 2.0 litre which has now done 4300 miles and does 42/43 mpg with mixed driving and there are a few times its had some welly very pleased with it. PS I also did a full tank to full tank check as well and got 42 mpg.
I would recommend, resetting the MPG computer, then doing a nice long gentle motorway run. This will set the base MPG around 50. Then normal driving after that should stabilise around 43MPG which seems to be the sweet spot for the 2WD petrol CX3.
You need to reset the computer, because the dealer runs the engine during their checks without driving anywhere and it throws the calculation off.

Our CX-3 (2wd 2.0lt 150bhp) after 5600km is averaging under 6L/100km (47mpg), initially in its first 2000km it was nearer 8L/100km (35mpg). Sees roughly 70% stop/start traffic and 30% freeway driving.Mazdaman72 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2017 9:23 am I have 2.0 litre which has now done 4300 miles and does 42/43 mpg with mixed driving and there are a few times its had some welly very pleased with it. We have averaged 43-44mpg in a manual Sport Nav 2.0L since March. Lots of that has been in town and even idling waiting for absolutely ages!!! air con (sorry climate control) is on more than off!!You should seriously complain if you are getting under 40mpg unless you drive like Lewis Hamilton!!! My MPG has started to improve. Initially I was getting 40-42mpg on local runs, but last Thursday I did an 80 mile round trip and it returned 52mpg. Most of the time I was cruising at 50mph with the odd burst showing 80mph.

If the display is to be relied upon, after 6000 miles my 2.0L Automatic averages 43mpg with the irritating i-stop function always turned off. I hope that by de-activating it before every journey it will eventually fail and leave me in peace.
