Early morning (still dark), travelling along motorway when I see something in the road - it looks like a sheet of plywood or plastic but as I get closer, I notice it isn't. No room or time to change lanes and I clatter over it - it was clearly metal!

about 300 yards later I see a flat bed truck on the hard shoulder with the 2 occupants investigating the rear. It then dawns on me - I have just run over one of the loading ramps which has fallen off the back of their truck. Those ramps are c2" deep...

No punctures and no obvious damage to either offside wheel but the tracking is out and the steering wheel is now of centre. Off to have the alignment checked and reset this afternoon - hopefully nothing else damaged.

I'll update later

That's not nice, and I feel for you. There is very little that you can do in that situation. Hopefully it's something easy like tracking, but it's still very unlucky. Fingers crossed for you.

Had the car checked over, nothing broken or damaged.

Tracking reset - steering wheel still slightly offset but at least car runs straight....
