Hi,

In the boot area underneath the floor there are lots of shaped polystyrene compartments, I just have a few bits in there like the wheel nuts and compressor kit. Does anyone know if they are designed for specific things? Also on the right side of the boot there is a pull out hatch with space behind, anyone know what might normally be here.
Thank you

Haven't you got a built-in fridge there? ☺

The pull out section on the right is for the car jack which comes as part of the spare wheel kit.

I'm glad you brought this question up Nick as I was wondering what was behind that panel ion the right as well. I can't get the panel to open. Is there a technique to it. I don't want to pull on it to hard and break it.

Personally I would prefer a spare wheel rather than a repair kit, but not sure where you would put one. On the roof perhaps ;)

I think you just need to pull a bit harder on the panel.

You can install a space saver spare wheel in the boot (official kit of bits) or you can buy a full size alloy and associated bits and put that in the boot. I've done a write-up on the latter option here: http://www.jtonline.info/18-inch-spare-wheel/

Standard things for those compartments are compressor kit, short and long towing hooks, locking wheel nut key, and jack lever.

I've got the official space saver kit, in fact bought it from a forum member. Would much rather have a spare wheel then tyre gunk!

Cool thanks. Mine does not have the spare wheel just the sealant kit, so I assume I don't have a Jack either? Can you have the spare wheel if you have the sub speaker?

No you won't have a jack unless you have a spare wheel. The sub-woofer is shaped to fit inside a wheel. As RP says, there are two space saver wheel kits - see the accessories section on the mazda.co.uk website. If, however, you go with full size alloy option then all the part numbers are in my article.
