How do you extend the time the interior lights stop on after closing the doors ?

On the MZD Connect go to Settings, then right to Vehicle then choose Lights, one of the option should be interior lights when door is closed; I can set mine to 7.5 - 15 - 30 and 60 secs (I think it was).
Sorry if the menus are called something slightly different, mine is in Danish :-)

Select the Cog (Settings) icon on the infotainment centre screen
Move to the Vehicle tab
Illuminated entry system / Lighting
Time until interior lights turn off after closing door - default 15 seconds, can be changed to 7.5, 30, or 60 seconds.
They only stay on for about 5 seconds when a door is opened from the outside with a key being carried and then the door is closed regardless of settings.
