Stopped at lights, car in front engine running, doesnt have istop or has disabled it, chucking out whatever gases, some being sucked into my air space. Much rather he or she had istop. And yes I know I could put mine onto recirculation...... etc etc

1) You'd have to be very close for your a/c system to suck his exhaust fumes into the cabin. And it probably wouldn't matter if you sit somewhere with poor air quality (London comes to mind) to start with.
2) Some folks didn't have the choice to get istop (or similar systems). They wouldn't even offer it as an option on my current car.

3) Personally, I find the noise much more obnoxious. Particularly cold diesel engines ... :o
