Well our installation was a disaster. After 6 hours in gave us a courtesy car to drive the 20 miles home. Aiming for Monday now but dealer is scratching his head as to what to do.☹️😡

I thought it was a straightforward job.

Please excuse me if I am a complete thicky but I just wanted to clarify something. I have a brand Harry spanking new CX3 with the two USBs on the console. Can I just download the necessary firmware to get CarPlay? I fear not, but just needed some kind person to tell me so, and what a thicky I am. :?

Yes, you need new hardware unless you ordered your car with CarPlay fitted.

He should have written "no, hardware and software required" rather than "no hardware and software required". The addition (or omission) of a small comma makes a big difference. ;)

Thanks I was typing on my mobile and with my old eyes failed to spot the error.

We’ll let you off, Mark.🙂

Now, more importantly, if my wife’s CX-3 isn’t ready tomorrow we’ll be having words. The dealer has had the car since 08:30 Friday and still hasn’t sorted out the CarPlay integration.

After 2.5 days SG Petch have given up. Getting reimbursed. Anyone know a Mazda dealer in the north east who can do it?

Update: got the car home and the dealer has managed to update the car’s OS to v70xxxxxx. So what’s left to do to complete the installation?

Cheers

Peter
