It’s an exact replica of your usb/sd card module

Thanks for that. Presumably when it’s all set up you just plug your phone in and you’re good to go or do you have to press something to initiate it?

Cheers

I think this is what they look like :-

New USB Aux Unit and USB Cabling.jpg

Part numbers I gather are Aux Unit TK78-66-9U0C and Cabling (set of two) C830-V6-60Z

Great photo, you just plug into the usb with the white phone symbol and away you go, you can swap between the Mazda or CP/AA with a icon on screen, iirc when you plug in it just asks if you want to use CP/AA

Mine is Android Auto so it is just a guess on the Car Play side of things.

Now booked the wife's CX-3 into Turnbulls Mazda in York as they know what they're doing regarding installation. Just got to wait until mid October now :(

I have just purchased all the bits to do ACP/AA from my dealer. To my surprise everything was in stock as apparently they're supposed to install in their demonstrator and haven't got around to it.

I fitted it all this afternoon, fairly straightforward, but the two USB cables are way too long for a CX-3 install, so the instructions say to bunch up the excess and tie behind the CMU; easier said than done when you only have a small aperture in the dashboard to work through.

I wasn't going to buy the kit initially, but decided that now my sat nav map updates are chargeable, I'd spend some Christmas pressie money and get Apple Car Play and use Waze maps or similar from my iPhone instead.
