That's not true. If you enter the Postcode in the Postcode field, you then get a House Number option if the postcode has house numbers associated with it.

E.g. Enter B61 0TA into the Postcode field and you can then type a house (property) number from 5 to 251. (Yes, that post code is for properties that start at no. 5) Then click the list icon at the bottom right-hand corner to navigate to the chosen place.

The Sat Nav although not the best display is absolutely fine, never have any difficulty entering the destination either by postcode address or place of interest

You can choose your route in the option menu and even when I know the way I use it in case I have to divert

One quirk (I would call it bug or at least a redundant option that seem to be overridden if not selected) is that if you select a town and a street but then don't click on the Select Street option, the Navigate To will work but ignores the street and just take you to the centre of the town! As I found out to my cost when quickly setting the navigate option last week and finding myself ending up in the middle of Oxford when I really wanted somewhere on the outskirts :(

By my logic the Select Town and Select Street options aren't really necessary on the basis that :-

Choosing a town and no more then it should take me to approximately the town centre
Choosing a town and street and no more then it should take me to approximately the middle of the street length
Choosing a town, street and then house number or name should take me right there

Now I know I will certainly make sure I don't make the same mistake again, particularly when I don't have the full post code and the "house" doesn't have a number.

Apologies JT , previously it hadn't let me do it but I tried it again. Most of the time it works, sometimes not. I couldn't get it to accept my home address and had to save it as "current location".

Found it far better than my stand alone Garmin but I don't know if like the Garmin there is an easy way of savings your current location if you intend to come back to it.

Using current location with your car sat outside your house is the quickest way to set your home location when you initially set up the Mazda sat nav after buying the car. There are people who say it's best to set your home location somewhere near your actual home so that if your car ever gets stolen, the thief can't easily navigate back to your real address, but I don't think that's ever very likely.

You can add current location at any time to your Favourites list, then edit list entry to have a more memorable description if necessary.

You can always revert to a previous version on your pc app. Not great I admit. Installed my update yesterday and trying it out this morning!!! ❓

It does accept post codes no problem in my experience. I must admit, after using a TomTom, I found the MZD nav very awkward but once used to it, I like it. I’ve been using it quite successfully paired to my phone too and now if just discovered unlimited ad free and talk free music on aha, I’ll be using that too.

A word of advice. When ever you want to select something, go to the bottom of the choices and enter it there (the lowest selection on the list). JT helped me a lot in the early days.
