Agree with Steve, around town and short runs 38-40mpg, longer runs around 45mpg. The best I've had on an 80 mile round trip was 52mpg.

Mine is an automatic and during my 92,000 km so far, the average is 45mpg with a best of 50.47mpg.
That's mainly country roads at around 80 km/h with a bit of city driving and the odd highway trip (110-130 km/h).

Average mpg over 14000 miles (never reset includes lots of town, motorway, A roads and basically hanging around) always reads 42.6 to 42.7 mpg. Not bad!! ☺

I’ve recently changed fuel from standard Tesco to Tesco Momentum. A quick calculation shows that whilst the cost increase is about 4%, the mpg improves by 6%.
I have also compared the following:
The mpg recorded by the car, and the mpg calculated by the distance/fuel I purchase. The car seems to be optimistic by a tab over 2mpg, and feels more refined.
The difference in mpg by varying the speed I cruise at on the motorway for my daily commute. The journey is 63 miles with 50% on the motorway and the other 50% on A & B roads with mainly 40 & 50mph speed limits. If I set the cruise control to 70mph I can get, according to the cars computer, about 45mpg. If I set the cruise control to 62mph (journey time about 1hr 20minutes) the mpg rises considerably and my last tank full returned 51.5mpg – equivalent to about 49.5mpg. Since filling up I’m now at 54.4mpg average – real world of 52mpg. This will come down over the weekend but not below the 50mpg mark.
I don’t hang about but try to drive smoothly and look well ahead for any issues.

How much of an improvement did you get when you had the car chipped? About 10%?

I did get an improvement but cannot remember by how much. At most I think it was 10% but probably closer to 5%. But that extra torque probably helps with the way I'm currently driving my car rather than when I first had it done.
