When I bought my car brand new, the navigation was not visible on the HUD.
I unticked and ticked the relevant setting(s) and it was visible from that moment.
Hallelujah! I'm glad it's not just me. I was beginning to tink I'd done soemthing wrong, but it looks like it's "the system"!!!

The HUD on the CX-3 is excellent as it shows your speed, road speed, nav directions, BSM and LKA plus time to take a break. Very good.

SatNav only shows when you've put in and started navigating a route. Simple!!!

"Temperamental" only scratches at the surface of possible descriptions of this Sat Nav. I tried to set an address in Brierley Hill last week. The mapping obviously recognised it as it finished the entry for me! I saved it to favourites and it appeared as something else!! When I got to B H it took me round and round and couldn't find either address. I stopped and asked, much more reliable than this rubbish!!!
I complained to "Here", the supposed mapping data supplier, here is their response;
"I’m Sorry to hear you are having problems. If you could share a specific missing address I can investigate if it is missing from our database.

There is a chance that the Mazda has data from another provider. Some car manufacturers may take HERE data for certain models of cars in certain territories but not across the range. HERE provide the data to Garmin so if an address or road is found on your Garmin device but is missing on the Mazda system then the data is likely to come from another provider in your car".

Speak as you find - I've found the CX-3's navigation much better than the Renault system I previously owned . My friend's Merc has a terrible system!!!

I'm fortunate enough not to have experienced many issues with the sat nav.

The (very infrequent) map data updates work in conjunction with the MZD Connect software updates. The former are applied by the vehicle owner, the latter are not officially released to the public and need to be installed by a Mazda authorised servicer (free during warranty period of the car). The current MZD Connect software fixes a number of symptoms of earlier versions, some of which are sat nav related, for example (not an exhaustive list):-
Speed limit does not show on some narrower roads.
TSR does not alert at correct advance warning setting.
House number not found error may appear even if address can be set.
When entering an address, different house number may appear as destination while correct number actually set.
When trying to enter a new destination some house numbers may not appear in the list to select from.

If you give me the postcode and number of the address in Brierley Hill, I will test the destination and favourite on my car, which has the latest software.

I think Pilot Error comes to mind.

Oh dear, is this what technology is doing to us? When I started driving it was a struggle to find a detailed map and adequate road signs.
Now we complain about house numbers not appearing on our sat nav.
I do agree the Mazda sat nav leaves a lot to be desired compared with others, but at least it is a sat nav and not a foldable map. Personally I don't use it. I have a Garmin which gives me free traffic updates and I plug it into whichever car I'm using. Apart from the traffic updates I use it as an accurate speedo and occasionally to find my final destination. I'm sure the Mazda system can help many users, but it certainly doesn't fulfil everybody's needs.
I love my Mazdas and will forgive their failings. As yet I have found no car that is perfect, but the ability to get me to a street and not outside a house I will forgive.
