Thanks for clearing that up st3v3cx-3.

Is there a tip/trick/update or workaround that can incorporate that feature into the UK spec settings menus ?

From the manual (my emphasis) "All doors and the liftgate can be locked/unlocked by pressing the request switch on the front doors while the key is being carried."
Thanks JT, yes I'm in the UK. I'm really pleased with the car so far. Went out in the Peak District yesterday and I was impressed how it handled the winding country roads.

A couple of queries, I'm assuming if you accidentally leave the key fob in the car the car will always be unlocked? Also is there a way of finding out the MPG for the whole day? The only MPG I could find was its overall MPG from the last time it was reset.

And many thanks for all the replies.

Cheers
Andrew

No, it would require programming the body control unit and UK models also don't have the requisite buttons in the door armrest.

If the key fob is left in the following areas and you leave the vehicle, the doors may be locked depending on the radio wave conditions:
Around the instrument panel;
In the storage compartments such as the glove box or the centre console;
Next to a mobile phone.

It's best to carry the fob in your trouser/shirt pocket if you can, so you don't accidently leave it in the car.

I got locked in my car today, not sure how it happened but I tried to open the door from the inside and it wouldn't open! I had to find the key in my handbag and manually unlock it to get out! I'm seriously worried that if that happened and I had an accident how would I get out?? I may not have the time to search for the key! Can anyone advise what I need to do to stop this happening again? I have a CX3 Sportnav, 15 plate, in the UK.

If the car loses connection with the key then it may think you've walked away and will lock the doors. I haven't tested, but I don't think it will auto lock if the ignition is on or the engine is running though.

Keep the key on you, and not in your handbag, glovebox or the centre console.
You can also turn off walk-away locking in the settings.
If the battery in the key fob is over 12 months old then it would be worth changing (instructions in the manual) although a battery that's going flat should make the green key symbol in the instrument cluster flash for a while.
Failing that, discuss with your Mazda service dept.
