I recently fitted a set of Pirelli Sottozero 3 winter tyres. 215/50R18 92V

Very nice.

I just spent 10 minutes debating if it's worth getting a set of 17" Winter Wheels to go with some Winter Tyres :)

Since the 18 inch alloys seem very susceptible to kerbing I'm surprised that nobody has suggested a replacement tyre with rim protection. I believe that Toyo do a ‘Proxes FSL’ where the FSL annotation means Rim Protection. Has anybody had experience of using these ?

Also I’m at a loss why Mazda don’t fit these as standard or am I missing something obvious ?

I don't think they make a tyre for the UK market that is 215/50R18 with rim protection.
